The Galesburg Business & Technology Center (BTC) is offering up to five $1,000 academic scholarships to full-time college or university students who have demonstrated a passion for entrepreneurship. Scholarships are available to any graduating high school senior or current college student (first, second or third year) that is a permanent resident of Knox or Warren counties. Students may attend any accredited two- or four-year educational institution of their choice, however, their permanent home must be within the two counties. The minimum grade point average must be 2.0 (4.0 scale). The primary selection criteria will be based upon the applicant’s entrepreneurship endeavors.  There are no specific limitations on the type of small business activity that qualifies the student for this scholarship.??The deadline for submission must be postmarked by Saturday, April 30. Students will need to complete the application form and submit appropriate academic and business documentation as requested, including a short essay (1-2 pages) about their entrepreneurship efforts, plus any other proof of their small business activity. Applications can be found at the Carl Sandburg College website at www.sandburg.edu, clicking on Community Services at right, and then BTC at the top left of the page, and look for the link that says Scholarship Application.
