CSC Medical Assisting Graduates Recognized at Pinning Ceremony

The Carl Sandburg College Class of 2010 Medical Assisting graduates held their pinning ceremony March 19 at the Carl Sandburg College Auditorium in Carthage.

Graduates included Lori Ackman and Patsy Moore, Macomb; Sallie Brissey, Monmouth; and Shawna Lydic, Alexis; who attended classes at The Main Campus in Galesburg, and Brenda Covert, Dallas City; Michelle Foulk, Jennifer Murphy, and T. Lynn Tweedell, Carthage; Micki Graham of Bowen; and Debra Grisham, Lomax; who attended classes at The Branch Campus in Carthage.

The theory portion for this program is delivered via interactive television, connecting the campuses while labs are held on-site at each campus. Students can apply to take the examination through the American Medical Technologists Association.

Speakers and presenters included CSC instructors Candace Bryant, Rachel Bicego and Melinda Whiteman. An additional speaker included Kim Krieg, the director of the Hamilton Warsaw Clinic, a division of Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Krieg supervised several CSC medical assisting students over the past few years while they completed their externship requirement at her facility.
