Two pharmacy technician programs begin Sept. 6

Black Hawk College is offering Pharmacy Technician training and a new Retail Pharmacy Training for the Pharmacy Technician program beginning Sept. 6.

Pharmacy Technician is a comprehensive course that sets students on the path as an entry-level pharmacy technician at a hospital, retail, home infusion or mail-order pharmacy.

Classes will be from 5:30-9 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 6 to Dec. 13, Outreach Center, 301 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline. Cost is $635.

Anyone who has already taken the Pharmacy Technician training or who has NPTC certification can enroll in the new Retail Pharmacy Training for the Pharmacy Technician. The program provides theory and practical training in a mock retail pharmacy setting.

Classes will be from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 6 to Dec. 13, at the college’s Quad-Cities Campus, 6600 34th Ave., Moline. Cost is $561.

The registration deadline for both classes is Friday, Sept. 2.
