Sandburg Students Awarded Alpha Lodge Scholarship

Samantha Stranger and Nick Putnam received the Alpha Lodge/Elvin C. Butler Scholarship on Wednesday, August 17, at Carl Sandburg College. Carl Sandburg College students Nick Putnam of Knoxville and Samantha Stranger of Abingdon have been awarded the Alpha Lodge/Elvin C. Butler Scholarship given through the Carl Sandburg College Foundation.

Putnam and Stranger were each awarded a $500 scholarship for the fall 2011 semester. This scholarship is a two-year $2,000 scholarship awarded to full-time students who have financial need and have maintained at least a "C" average in high school.
