The No Child Left Behind legislation hit another milestone in the Rockridge School District, with all elementary schools achieving adequate yearly progress in both math and reading based on tests given earlier this year. Reporting on the elementary scores on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 was Illinois City Principal Christel Fowler.

The board began its traveling board meetings Monday night with nearly 100 in attendance at the meeting held at Illinois City Elementary. The next three months will have changed meeting locations as follows: Nov. 14, Reynolds Elementary; Dec. 12, Andalusia Elementary and Jan. 9, Taylor Ridge Elementary. All meetings begin at 6:30 p.m.

Superintendent Dr. Chester Lien pointed out that the JH and HS scores "overall outperformed the state average considerably, with some being eight points higher."
