Register by Nov. 7 for free IDOT workshop on government-funded construction projects

Black Hawk College and the Illinois Department of Transportation are sponsoring a free workshop Nov. 9 on Doing Business on Government-Funded Construction Projects.

The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Centre Station, 1200 River Drive, Moline. The registration deadline is Monday, Nov. 7. Registration is free, but space is limited. Box lunch is included.

This workshop and information exchange is a great opportunity for small business owners and principals to learn:

·       ABCs of Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification

·       Bidding and estimating

·       Marketing and promotion

·       Bonding and financing

·       How to develop viable partnerships with construction industry leaders for upcoming infrastructure improvement projects in northwestern Illinois
