Emergency dispatcher training available this summer at BHC

Learn the basic skills needed to become an entry-level emergency dispatcher in the new Black Hawk College class, Introduction to Public Safety Communications.
Students will learn the terminology and practical skills to answer and dispatch police, fire and EMS calls. The class will include traditional classroom lecture as well as simulation and role playing of practical skills.
The class will meet July 10 to Aug. 16 from 6-7 p.m. Tuesdays and from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursdays at the college’s Outreach Center, 301 Avenue of the Cities, East Moline. Cost is $155 for residents of the college’s district. Call for out-of-district rates.
