Animal lovers – Sign up for veterinary assistant program

Are you an animal lover? Black Hawk College is offering a new session of the popular Veterinary Assistant Certificate Program beginning Aug. 22.

The program prepares students for entry-level positions in veterinarian’s offices, animal shelters, animal control facilities, pet stores, kennels, zoos and veterinary drug companies. The course will cover topics such as vaccinations, surgery preparation, lab procedures, routine examinations and medication.

The class will meet from 5:45-9:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 22 to Dec. 19, at the college’s Quad-Cities Campus in Moline and the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan. Cost is $655.
