Bryant-Holmes Scholarship for Mercer County High School

Amount: $1,000 yearly scholarship is renewable over four years, totaling $4,000.

Renewable: Yes, with the maintenance of a 2.5 GPA.

Need-based: Yes.

Requirements and selection criteria:

• Applicant must be a graduating senior from Mercer County High School.
• Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA or show a marked improvement during the last two years of high school.
• Merit will be determined by extracurricular activities and work experience.
• Financial need is a consideration.
• Preference will be given for the length of time attending school in the Mercer County school system and for those pursuing a degree in teaching or agriculture.

Clifford and Louise King Scholarship

Amount: Up to $2,800.

Renewable: No.

Need-based: No.

Requirements and selection criteria:

• Applicant must be a graduating senior at Sherrard Jr./Senior High School.
• Applicant must plan to become an elementary or secondary level teacher.
• Applicant must prepare a short essay on why teaching is their chosen field.
• Applicant must plan to enroll in an accredited institution of higher learning.
