BIG MISTAKE - The annual yard sales in Little York will NOT be held on April 24 but on May 29.
Jim and Debra Darrah hosted a birthday supper last Thursday evening for Ed Orterry of Lake Warren. Present were Elizabeth Orterry, Shelly Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Esters of Alpha.
Bob Perrin accompanied his son and wife, Joel and Jonna of Lindwood to Carbondale to visit Bob’s grandson Jared. From Carbondale they drove on to Branson, Mo. to enjoy the sights and sounds until they returned home on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fredrickson enjoyed having their daughter Abbey of Elgin spent the past weekend with them.
On Saturday, Shirley, Debra and Kris Darrah traveled to the home of Shirley’s son John in Dubuque, Iowa. The ladies attended a bridal shower for Lauren Baker of Des Moines, Iowa. Lauren is engaged to Shirley’s older grandson Jason Darrah.
Church Women United will meet at Little Cedar Presbyterian Church in Little York for May Friendship Day at 9 a.m. on May 7, for breakfsast and a program.
Maxine Stoutt attended the A.M. brunch and style show at Jameson Center on Saturday. In the afternoon she attended a Promenade at West Central for grandparents, her grandson Jared Clark was a participant.
Irvan Galusha enjoyed a busy weekend when his daughter Mary Ann Eiserman and granddaughter Anna Lyons of Libertyville came to help Marge Simmons of Monmouth celebrate her birthday. The celebration was held at the Monmouth Country Club on Friday evening. On Saturday they visited with Gene and Millie Galusha of Kirkwood. Saturday evening they enjoyed a catfish dinner in Oquawka, where Irvin’s granddaughter Hallie Simmons is a waitress.
The Little Cedar Youth Group will met at 6:30 p.m. at the church on Friday May 23 for tacos and a movie.
The Starting Point Tea is May 1 at the Armory from 1-3 p.m. Linda Dutton will have a table for Little Cedar, if there is enough interest.
