Pine Bluff Church Ladies are having a program and luncheon on Saturday May 8. Jack Carey will begin the program at 11 a.m. with a sandwich, salad, or dessert to follow. This is a free event for area ladies. So try to come, mothers, daughters, friends, and sisters. I went last year and enjoyed the program and lunch. There are great cooks in that little church. There is an elevator chair that goes to the basement. For more information call Maxine Sedam 537-3582. Hope you can come!

Frances Kreuger and Ruth Chard returned from a vacation to Baltimore, Md. Frances granddaughter Elizabeth Karge married Joe Capato. Gary and Kathy Potter, Jason Potter, and Angie Eingeldt from Illinois City also attended. The Potters drove to N.C. to get their daughter, Jessica and family for the occasion. Frances was very happy to have a picture of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Illinois City United Methodist Church is a busy place this week. A group painted the dining room and new flooring in the kitchen area and new carpet on steps and in the dining room. A new look- thanks to all who helped in any way! The basement has served a lot of fried chicken and chicken noodles over the years.

I was visiting with Sue Thirtyacre the other day, and she commented on rumors of mushrooms being gathered. She didn’t know exact locations!

Abby and Andrew McAlister and boys enjoyed lunch with Ali McGinnis of Silvis. They also enjoyed an afternoon in the park.

Peggy Heaton and Penny Brown went to Branson, Mo. and met a friend, Evelyn Johnson from Crokett, Texas. They are “old” friends that enjoy visiting and attending shows.

The Chris McCalleys enjoyed a visit from his parents on the weekend. They are from Independence, Iowa.

The girls at the Hilltop Greenhouse enjoyed a luncheon on Friday for Ruth Chard. She will be done planting and starting a new adventure in Muscatine, Iowa soon. We all will miss her.

The Service Guild Ladies will be meeting at the Livermore on May 10 at 6:30 p.m. anyone interested in attending, call Mary Ann Vroman.

Laura McGinnis enjoyed Saturday with Amy Duncan and Marcia Duncan at Ladies on the Loose. A delicious brunch at the Livermore and shopping around town.
