A total of 22 pints of blood were collected during the May 5 blood drive that was held at the Alexis Community Center.

The date of the next blood drive is July 15. It will be held at the United Presbyterian Church here from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Alexis and Norwood Presbyterian Churches and North Henderson United Methodist Church are the sponsors. Closer to the July 15 drive, persons may sign up at their church or you may call Bonnie Brown 482-3422, Charles Johnson 482-3404, or Sheila Pressley 482-5549. Walk-ins will also be welcome.

Richard and Joyce McCaw, 381 300th St., rural North Henderson, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 5 with a family gathering.

Richard McCaw and the former Joyce Johnson were married May 5, 1945, at Zion Lutheran Church in North Henderson.

They have two children: Joy (Pat) McCaw, rural New Windsor, and Judy Simpson of Knoxville. There are four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

SHARE Delivery Day is Friday the 21, beginning at 1:15 p.m. at the Community Center. Persons may also sign up for June delivery at that time.

Memorial Day Services are scheduled for Monday, May 31 in Alexis area at Mt. Vernon Cemetery at 10 a.m. in rural North Henderson and at 11 a.m. at the Alexis Cemetery. The James Harvey Scott Post #189 of the American Legion will hold the services. In case of inclement weather, one service will be held at the United Fieldhouse in Alexis, beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. Dennis Spohrer of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, is the speaker. United High School band members will furnish musical for the services.

Norwood Presbyterian Church will observe Memorial Day on Sunday, May 30, beginning at 9 a.m. There will be no Sunday School. At 9:30 a.m., a service will be held at the flagpole. Flags will then be placed on graves of all soldiers buried in the Norwood Cemetery.
