Lots of things are going in Seaton. The Seaton Library is planning a summer reading program called “Reading Rocks” for kids ages 0-18. Actually anyone of any age can join in the fun. When the readers register, they will receive a “goody bag” and every week if they check in they will get a prize. After the six-week program, there will be prizes awarded and a pizza party for all readers.

The Seaton Center Presbyterian Church is planning to start Sunday school up again soon. Their afterschool program “God Rocks” was a big success again this year. Sunday church service starts at 9 a.m. until Memorial Day Sunday.

Birthdays in the area include, Becca Weeks, daughter of Chris and JoAnn Weeks of rural Seaton. She is having her 10th birthday on the 10th of May in 2010. To celebrate she had some friends for a sleepover in late April. Then on her birthday she had a few family members over for a small party. Her cousin Hunter Weeks of rural Aledo is having a birthday on May 15, so they are having a joint camp-out with cousins and some friends at Hunter’s house on the weekend of the May 15. Hunter will be five and is the son of Rod and Kelli Weeks.

Ida Steepleton spent the weekend in Cambridge last Friday and Saturday. Her daughter, Steph and Glen Stark and Ida’s granddaughter Kathryn and Kendall came from Lebanon, Ill. to spend the weekend at Aunt Sandy and Lloyd DeShane’s house. They brought their dog also and had a great time fishing and exploring the grounds.
