(Aug. 26, 2010) Ed and Mary Schrock with Carolyn McGuire helped with the Patriot Guard 2010 Gathering of the Guard at the Knoxville Fairgrounds last weekend. The events started on Friday night, Saturday all day and on Sunday there was breakfast, church service and closing ceremony. Ed and Mary’s son, Gary Schrock and his wife, Mary Jo were the head of the gathering. It is to honor all servicemen. The theme was “all gave, some gave all”.

Weekend visitors for Dave and Marcia Duncan were Ganesh and Denise Ganpat and sons. They all enjoyed the New Windsor Rodeo along with Bill and Amy Duncan and sons. Sunday dinner was held at Seven Oaks near Galesburg with Don and Sandra Fisk and their grandsons plus daughter, Kristin Fisk from Plano, Texas. The Bill Duncan’s were also in attendance.

Jeff Duncan was home Sunday morning for a few hours getting ready for a trip to New Holland, Pennsylvania to start a new job. Jeff had spent the past week in Spencer, Iowa visiting his grandmother, Arleen Ott, and uncle and aunt, Gaylon and Sue Ott.

Coming up on Labor Day weekend is the 11th annual Larry Steepleton Memorial Fast Pitch Tournament at the Seaton ball diamond. The games are on Sept. 4th and 5th but the entries are not all in yet, so game times are not set.

Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. the Seaton Library Board meeting at will be held at Seaton Library. Since the end of the summer reading program, the hours of operation are again Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
