Chris and Maria McCalley and girls returned from vacation in Mexico at Riveria Maya. The weather was beautiful everyday. They returned just in time for snow!

Rick and Kay Amy and family enjoyed Christmas Eve at her parents, the Bob Jackson's in Sherrard. On Christmas day, the Amys' had Keith, Kevin, Stacey and Cooper for the holidays a lot of toys and play were enjoyed.

Robert & Patty Winegard fixed Christmas dinner for Lindsay and Eben and Jonathan. It was a quiet day with playtime with baby Eben.

Howard and Toni Ross enjoyed games at Nikki Bishop and Nathan Ross on Christmas day with a trip to Geneseo to visit relatives in the late afternoon.

The Ill. City United Methodist Church presented a min-cantata on Christmas Eve at the 9 p.m. service. Approximately 50 brave souls turned out for the candle light service. A great evening of song.

A reminder - Kidz Klub will meet again starting February 2nd at 3:30 p.m. at the church.

Ron and Peggy Heaton went to Sue's in Taylor Ridge for Christmas Day and then to Arlen and Dawn's in Milan, Ill to celebrate on Sunday. Good food and visiting with family.

Randy and Laura McGinnis entertained with a Christmas Eve meal for Pat McGinnis of Moline; Bill, Amy, Trent, and Cael Duncan of Lexis and James Brooks and Ali McGinnis of Silvis. The McGinnis enjoyed Christmas Day dinner with the Duncans, also visited with Tm and Janet Haines' to see their son, John Haines' family from Savannah, Ga.

Dave and Sarah Thomas of Buffalo Prairie and Matt and Wendy Gygax of Atlanta visited Sunday afternoon. Matt and Wendy enjoyed dog-sledding with "the Mushers" Babe and Billie.

Bonnie Doss enjoyed Christmas on Sunday at her daughter, Sarah's, home. They then surprised Bonnie for Christmas - a Limousine ride to see Christmas lights Sunday evening. It was Bonnie's first limo ride and a surprise! She really enjoyed the gift.

Marian and George McGreer entertained heir son's Brett and Paulette McGreer and Brian and Tammy McGreer and their families. Several of the grandchildren travel a distance for the holiday meal and visiting.

Larry and Elsa Mier enjoyed Christmas dinner at a full table of Lon and Jared Mier, John and Diana Mier and children, Jason and Katie Mier and children. A busy afternoon with the cute little grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pat and Lloyd Terrill entertained their family on Christmas morning for a brunch. A morning of opening presents - delicious food and even a visit from Santa Claus!

Lucille DeKeyrel enjoyed Christmas Eve at her home with Richard and Billie Kay Dekeyrel and Molly and Denise Hammer. The kids furnished a delicious meal. On Christmas Day, Don and Dee Dekeyrel, Denise and Molly Hammer, Bud Moore and son all visited and ate Christmas dinner and had an afternoon of visiting.

Rick and Maxine Sedam hosted Christmas Day dinner for Kyle, Roxanne and Montgomery Anders and Jay, Julie, and Jordan Lloyd. Rick and Maxine also celebrated their 30th Anniversary on December 27th at the Button Factory in Muscatine.

Fred and Phyllis Synder entertained Fred's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the holidays on December 18th - a houseful hat day. Then, on Christmas, Fred and Phyllis Danner Synder hosted Phyllis' children and their families - another full house.  Great food and visiting was enjoyed. The Snyders for many winters went south - but its nice for them to be in Ill City to enjoy the snow!!

Marty and Sheldon Farwell went to Tulsa, Okla. to Sheldon's sister, Janet, for a holiday gathering of the Farwells,  then on to their daughter Kelly in Richfield, Wis. For a family gathering and on the way home, stopped in Chicago at Marty's brother for another family time - a lot of traveling this Christmas season for the Farwells.

Rikki and James Hetzler Madison and Dustyn and Wade Hofer and Denise Duncan enjoyed Christmas day at Russ and Jackie Hofers. If you go to Muscatine at the holidays on Rt 92, the Hofers are the family with the wonderful Christmas light display. We certainly enjoyed it.

Alan and Lon Ricketts celebrated on Thursday with their son, Aaron and Ami. The younger Rickektts are remodeling the Harlo and Mary Ricketts' home and will move to this area when the home is done. It's great to have the younger generation come home to the Ill City area.

Dorothy Barber entertained a Christmas dinner for the Tony's, Diane's, Jesse's and Donna's. A big family group for a great meal and holiday gathering. Tony and Lori Barber visited with Lon's family on Christmas Eve.

Paul and Joanne Danner hosted Rex Danner, Ron and Lori Danner for Christmas Day dinner.
