90th Birthday open house set for Joan Martin

There will be an open house to celebrate the 90th birtday of Joan Martin, Feb. 5, 1 - 3 p.m. at Heritage Woods, Aledo.

Joan Carolyn Bostrom was born Feb 5, 1921 to David and Nellie Bostrom. She has one sister, Beverly (Paul) Likely, Las Vegas. Joan graduated from Aledo High School in 1939 with her high school sweetheart, Bill. William (Bill) and Joan married in 1943 at Fort Bliss, Texas.

They have three children, David (Jacksonville, Florida), Debby (Galesburg) and Nancy (Salem, Wisconsin). She has eight grandchildren: Heather, Angela, Alison, Josh, Dan, Michelle, Michael and Spencer. She has four great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Isabelle, Lileigh and Mackenzie.

Joan was a school teacher in Springfield and worked at the Mercer County Court House for Marion Miller, County Clerk, as the County Clerk Recorder of Deeds.  She is a long time member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo.
