Nagore' Damien returned from a three week visit to her family in Northern Spain.  She enjoys the seaside of Spain - unsure of the snow and ice of Illinois City! Her husband, Orja, is glad she has returned. They are eagerly awaiting their 1st child mid-February. They are living in the home of the McAlister while they are in the United Arab Emites (UAE).

The Boy Scout Troup 444 f Ill. City are busy with many projects which enable them to earn badges. Dwaine and Brenda Moffitt the leaders have a space shuttle project, a rope making and knotting lesson on Jan. 9 from 1- 3 p.m. at Ill City Hall. In February, the boys go to Genesis East to learn First Aid and also a dental lesson at that time.

The Illinois City Volunteer Fireman enjoyed a fish fry with all the trimmings on Saturday night. A great turn out of present members and many past volunteers with a few neighboring ire department members in attendance. This year, Rex Danner is president of the group. Hats off to the fine group of area volunteers.

A good turn out of Illinois City United Methodist's to the Sunday Pasta Bar and salad bar after church. This is a project for fellowship and missions. On Wednesday night, a delicious supper of Pasta Casseroles, green bean casserole, jello salad and chocolate chip cookies and milk. Was taken to the Homeless Shelter in Muscatine which houses approximately 65 persons any one night of the week. Jordan Lloyd has also been collecting heavy duty gloves per the shelter as a service project.

Sharon Mayhew of Aledo visited with Laura McGinnis and then they enjoyed shopping in Muscatine and eating lunch at Elly's Tea Room.

Neil and Barb Keller celebrated their 45th Anniversary at Moon River Supper Club. Those friends attending were: Tate and Mary Ann Vroman, Gary and Leona Feldman, and Doug and Diane Hessman.

The ladies were classmates in high school and enjoy getting together for lunches periodically. This time the "hubby's" got to come long for a Sunday meal with the wives.

Evelyn McGinnis grand-daughter Shelby and Mike VanHyfte of Birmingham, Mich., welcomes a triplet birth of two boys and one girl on January 17th. They are welcome by a sister Emily. The grandmother is Sharon McGinnis Wynn of Rock Island.

A reminder Kidz Klub starts 2/2 again. After a break in January, we will start at 3:30 for snacks, lessons, crafts and supper served at 5 p.m.  Mark your calendar for this date. For more information, call the Ill City United Methodist Church at 791-0119.
