Because of the long Martin Luther Day weekend, Glen and Steph Stark and their girls came up to spend it with Ida Steepleton. Ida loves having her kids and grand kids visit and loves to visit them in Lebanon.

The Mercer County junior high wrestlers went to Rock Island, Wednesday night, Jan. 19 for a dual with Edison Junior High. Edison usually proves to be a tough opponent and this year they won over the Golden Eagles 51-29. Two from the starting line were out sick. The dual started with three exhibition matches and Garrett Russell, Tanner Barnhouse and Carl Dennison all did a good job for MC. Winning in the team competition for MC were, Trenton Murphy, Drake Stirn, Ashton Klingman, Tristen Finch, Matthew Weeks, Mason Weeks and Quentin Ball. They will be on to Timber Ridge this Friday for a two-day tournament.

Sympathy goes out to Ellen "Snookie" Sowder and her family on the passing of her youngest daughter, Rhonda last week. Rhonda suffered from lupus and she and her children Sammy and Stephanie had been living with Ellen in Seaton for several months. Ellen was recovering from surgery herself so Rhonda was staying at her sister, Sandy Puckett's house in Millersburg when she passed away.

Birthdays this past week include, Dwight Boock on the Jan. 20. Dwight and his wife Carol moved to town after retiring from farming.
