Kelly Patches and Pans HEA met at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10 at Alexis Community Center. Sandy Brown presented the afternoon program. Shirley Campbell and Sandy Brown were the hostesses. Food Pantry items are cans of fruit.
Word has been received of the death of Jim Adams, 9, Hanford, Calif. on Wednesday, Jan. 26. A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, Feb 2 at First Christian Church in Hanford. Burial will be at 1 p.m. after time in Ill. Jim was the son of Frank and Jessie (Leander) Adams. He was a 1960 Alexis high school graduate. His wife, Joanne, survives with three sons, a grandson and two brothers, Don Adams, North Henderson, and Gerry Adams, Viola, and other relatives.
A family gathering marked the 35th wedding anniversary of Jack and Jayne Johnson of rural North Henderson, Saturday, Jan. 29 at Best Western Prairie Inn, Galesburg.
Jack Johnson, North Henderson, and Jayne Johnson, Alexis, were married Jan. 25, 1976, in Alexis by the Rev. Kenneth Knudsen of North Henderson. They have three children: Jennifer (Dave) Lewand, Winfield; Joel (Jen) Johnson, Alexis, and Janella Johnson, Omaha, Neb. There are four grandchildren. Jack farms, raises purebred hogs and is a Wyffels Hybrids Seed representative. Jayne works at Archer Daniels Midland, Galesburg.
They are long-time members of Zion Lutheran Church, North Henderson. They plan to take a trip to Mexico with friends next month.
