We extend our sympathy to the Close and Reid families on the death of Joe Reid. He had surgery on Jan. 12 at the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City. He was the secretary-treasurer of Hamlet Mutual Insurance Co.

Sunday, Feb. 6, was a busy day at the Reynolds United Methodist Church -- Boy Scout Sunday was observed. The scouts helped with greeters - Fred and Marie Fuller. One of their leaders is Jamie Bahala. Karen Brooks and Theresa Kiddoo were welcomed as members to the Reynolds Church by transfer of letter. Bob Brooks sang for us during the service. It was Holy Communion Sunday. All of the Scouts in uniform were recognized during the service and were served refreshments after the service.

Rev. Mark served Holy Communion to shut-ins and nursing home residents after the service and a Super Bowl Party was held starting at 4 p.m.

Reynolds Volunteer Fireman breakfast was held at the Reynolds American Legion Building from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost was by donation.

Jessica House Rhodes was honored with a baby shower at the Reynolds Methodist Church Sunday, Feb. 6 following the morning worship. Jessica is the daughter of David and Donna House.

After the snow storm we are "digging out."
