The Mercer County Junior High Wrestling team wrestled at Sherrard on Thursday, Feb 17 in a dual match. The score went back and forth through the lower weights but by the time Curtis Van Winkle at 119 wrestled, the Eagles started to pull away. Winners in the 45-30 victory for the Eagles were Trae Blaser, Ashton Klingaman, Curtis Van Winkle, Tristen Finch, Logan Welch, Matthew Weeks, Mason Weeks, Quentin Ball, Chase Nelson and Carl Dennison.

On Saturday the Golden Eagles JH wrestlers traveled to Canton for the annual Ingersoll tournament. Ten teams were there. Canton took first with 286.5 points and Mercer County second with 242. Mercer County was wrestling without two of its starting line-up. Place finishers that day were: Tanner Barnhouse- 4th, Justin Carey- 5th, Robbie Carey- 5th, Jarrett Russell- 3rd, Trenton Murphy- 5th, Drake Stirn- 3rd, Madden Karr- 3rd, Ashton Klingaman- 3rd, Curtis Van Winkle- 1st, Jake Kisner- 5th, Quinton Ball- 3rd, Mike Neeld- 3rd, Trae Blaser- 1st, Matthew Weeks- 1st and Mason Weeks- 1st.

On Tuesday, Feb. 22, the JH wrestlers hosted Orion for the last dual of the season and the conference banner. The final score was  Mercer County 52- Orion 24 with the following Eagles winning: Trae Blaser, Trenton Murphy, Drake Stirn (13-11 in OT), Ashton Klingaman, Tristen Finch, Logan Welch, Matthew Weeks, Mason Weeks, Chase Nelson and Quinton Ball. In exhibition matches the following Eagles won: Trenton Murphy, Jake Kisner (twice), Robbie Carey (twice), Justin Carey, Tanner Barnhouse, and Ashton Klingaman.

On Feb. 24, Kathy Melton had a birthday. Marilyn Hollemback celebrated her 80th birthday on Feb. 28.

The S.P.A.R.K.S committee has set March 19 for the auction of the "tornado" and slide from the park. In April the new park equipment should be delivered.
