The 31st Annual Regional Spelling Bee was held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 in Centennial Hall at Augustana College, Rock Island. Rockridge School District 300 - contestants were Austin Johnson, Lindsay Mack, and Stephen Rosmann - all eighth graders at Rockridge Junior High. The contestants are from Rock Island, Henry and Mercer Counties in Illinois and Scott County, Iowa.

Thursday, Feb. 24, Jan Mueller, wife of Brian Mueller returned home from Rochester, Minnesota after spending 28 days in the hospital. She underwent seven surgeries - She had blood clots and a tumor removed from her leg.

Dennis and Cherie Van Daele returned Saturday, Feb. 26 from two weeks vacation in Florida. They visited Pompano Beach, Fla. one week, Punta Gorda, Fla. for four days. They saw Pastor Bob and Kathy, and their Schoolcraft's new house near Avon Park, Fla. They visited the Florida Fly Wheeler Show for antique tractors and spent two days in Clearwater Beach, Fla. The weather was beautiful - 75 degrees - 82 degrees.

Dick and Bonnie Curry, Connie and Al Schnoor and daughter, Jenny, and Jerry Rushton helped Inez Rushton celebrate her 88 birthday, Tues., February 22. Connie Schnoor baked 2 birthday cakes and Dick and Bonnie Curry provided ice cream to staff and residents there at Manor Care Nursing Home.

Carol and Wayne Erickson, Ron and Pat Kerres sent 11 days in Alabama and Florida. They enjoyed best weather, played golf, and enjoyed their vacation. They returned Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Steve and Sherry Oak vacationed in Florida and Alabama for 10 days. They visited Wendell and Elaine Oak in Florida and Joan Terry in Alabama, their parents. The weather was warm. They returned Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Rev. Mark Slaatte led the services at Mercer County Nursing Home and Aledo Rehab. Sunday, February 27 at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. He will be attending "Covenant Keeper" in Peoria, Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 28  and Tuesday, March 1.

The chicken noodle supper will be served Thursday, March 24 from 4- 7 p.m. by the Reynolds United Methodist Church at the Reynolds Legion Building.
