Former Rockridge high school softball standout Liz Watkins earned her second weekly honor as Big Ten Player of the Week this week. She is catcher for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. They played Northwestern.

The Black Hawk region of the Illinois Principals Association honored student leaders Friday, April 15 at Stoney Creek Inn and Conference Center, Moline. Students have no discipline issues, are positive role models, leadership roles and are solid students academically. Reynolds elementary Seth Moffitt and Emily Zeck. Junior high, Lucas Vermeire, Alexus Tennant. Rockridge high school, Hunter Frakes and Samantha McGreer.

Dick and Bonnie Curry visited Inez and Jerry Rushton, Manor Care, Bettendorf, on Saturday, April 16.

Palm Sunday was celebrated at Reynolds United Methodist Church. Wendy Jo Burnett sang a solo, "Once Upon A Tree." Congregation members were given palm branches in observance of the day. Maundy Thursday service was Thursday, April 21 at Reynolds. Good Friday services was at Taylor Ridge on Friday at 7 p.m. Easter sunrise service was at 7 a.m. in Reynolds.

John Stetson from Texas is visiting his mother, Patricia Stetson.

Beulah Venable entertained Frank and Sandra Venable, Mel and Susan Blaser for Sandra's birthday, Thursday April 14.

Paul and Wendy Jo Burnett and daughter Vivi, Aurora, spent the weekend with her parents, Leonard and Mary Knox.
