    Alexis-North Henderson Ambulance Service held its annual picnic on Sunday, June 5 at Lake Warren. About 40 EMTs, first responders, drivers, guests and family members enjoyed a steak fry and potluck dinner. Terry Poole, outgoing EMS director, also attended the event.

    Two area churches have announced plans for Vacation Bible School later this month. At Alexis United Presbyterian Church, classes are June 27-July 1 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Volunteers are needed and should call Kelly Hannam at 309-482-3990. Norwood Presbyterian Church will hold classes June 27-July 1, each afternoon at the church.

    Alexis Cemetery Board has announced that lot prices will increase on July 1. Any persons wishing to purchase lots, should contact a board member (Patty Sims, Charlie Rogers, Martha Shunick).

    Alexis Woman's Club will hold its annual year-end meeting on Tuesday, June 28 with the location to be announced. Lunch will be "Dutch Treat" at noon. Yearly reports will be given by the president, treasurer and auditor. A memorial service and installation of officer will also be held.

    Word was received of the death of Patricia (King) Alexander, age 66, of Decatur. She was a 1962 graduate of Alexis High School. Services were held May 17 in Decatur.

    Presbyterian Women's Bible Study meets Wednesday, June 15 at 9:00 a.m. Carol Roth is hostess. Jean Culver will give the lesson.

    Holy Communion and Confirmation will be observed on Sunday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m.

    SHARE Delivery Day will be Saturday, June 25, beginning at 10:45 a.m. at Alexis Community Center. People may also sign up for July delivery at that time.
