Local Boys Excel in AMA

Three Keithsburg boys are part of the AMA Dirtbike Association through WFO promotions with racing hare scrambles. Their season started in Keithsburg on March 13, 2011 and goes through October 2, with races all over the state of Illinois.

The boys are currently placing in the Top 6 out of 24 riders in the overall points standings. The races are half an hour long, with numerous jumps and wooded trails to ride through.

Derik Tipple, age 10 of Keithsburg rides a Suzuki rm65. He is the son of Donovan Tippie (fiancee Danaille Sage) of Keithsburg and Kelli Tippie of New Boston. Carson Tippie, age 8 of Keithsburg races a KX60. He is the son of Shaun and Becky Tippie. Patrick Wessels, age 9 of Keithsburg also rides a KX60. He is the son of Tim and Lisa Wessels.

If you would like to come to share your support, the races are as follows: Aug. 14 - Atkinson, Aug. 28 - LaSalle, Sept. 4 - Plainview, Sept. 25 - Geneseo, and the last race of the season is Oct. 2 in Geneseo. All races start at 9:00 a.m., and the 65 class races at 10:30 a.m.
