Maynard to replace Box on County Board

Dave Maynard is being recommended by the Mercer County Democratic Committee to fill Charlie Box's vacancy on the Mercer County Board. Box, of Sherrard, resigned earlier this month after a debate over Genesis Health providing an interim administrator for Mercer County Nursing Home. He represented District 3, with a term set to expire in 2012. Maynard, of Matherville, had previously served on the county board, but lost his re-election effort to Republican Ron Fullerlove of Preemption last fall. The appointment will be made by County Board Chairman Maxine Henry at the September 6 county board meeting. The full county board must approve the appointment.
