Effie Schroeder

Effie Schroeder, 88, of Aledo, formerly of Newberry, Michigan died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo.  Services are pending at Beaulieu Funeral Home in Newberry, Michigan.  Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Aledo, assisted the family with local arrangements.

    Effie was born November 27, 1922 in Engadine, Michigan, the daughter of John and Frances Ozanich Lesatz.  She married Theodore Schroeder on October 20, 1942 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas while he was serving in the U.S. Army during WWII.  They were married for 68 years, living in Newberry 63 of those years.  He died January 1, 2011.

    Survivors (and spouses) include her son, Richard (Alice) Schroeder, Grand Rapids, Michigan; daughter, Diane Sedam, New Boston; grandchildren, Kevin (Anita) Sedam, Jeff (Judy) Sedam, both of Edgington, and Derek (Beth) Schroeder, Ada, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Blake and Shenae Sedam, Edgington, Reece Schroeder, Ada, Michigan and one on the way; brother, Edward (Marian) Lesatz; sister-in-law, Clara (Edward) Schroeder,  both of Engadine, Michigan and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; great-granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Schroeder and son-in-law, Larry Sedam.
