Donald Emil Siebke

Donald Emil Siebke, 89, of Aledo, formerly of Walcott, Iowa passed away, Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Aledo Rehab and Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2011 at The Runge Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Daren Dietmeier and Rev. Nick Needham will be officiating the service. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2011 at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Aledo Rehab and Health Care Center, Mercer County Hospice, Trinity Presbyterian Church, CPA, Aledo, or Calvary United Methodist, Walcott. Donald was born on February 12, 1922 in rural Scott County, Iowa, on the family farm, the son of Emil and Olga Broders Siebke. He married Mardell Beckman on August 22, 1945 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on April 6, 1975. He then married Elaine Sackville-Mitchell on January 17, 1977 in Buffalo Prairie, Illinois.
Donald farmed his entire life on the family farm in rural Walcott until retiring in 1984 and moving into Walcott. Even after retiring he returned to help his children on the farm. In 1991 his farm became a Century Farm. Donald was very family oriented and his family was his love. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and was a Cubs fan. Donald was a member of Davenport Moose Lodge, Walcott Community Club, and Walcott Calvary United Methodist Church.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife Elaine, of Aledo, sons Donald H. (Deborah) Siebke, Rock Island, Wayne L. (Janice) Siebke, Milan, Loren L. (Carol) Siebke, Grand Mound, Iowa, and Randy (Jodi) Siebke, Walcott; step children Robert W. (Kristie) Mitchell, Coal Valley, Dixie Finch, Aledo, Scott Mitchell, Aledo, Shay Lemon, Reynolds, and Doug (Cyndee) Mitchell, Norfolk, NE; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and brother Elmer (Nelda) Siebke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Orville, wife Mardell, son Gerald in 1997, and sister Florence Arp, July 30, 2009.
