Dollie Gobble
Dollie Gobble, 71, of Spring Hill, Fla., formerly of Preemption passed away on August 30, 2011. A memorial service is tentatively set for October 1 at the Preemption Methodist Church, details will be announced at a later date.
She was born December 16, 1939 in Seaton to Alton and Beatrice Hibbs Crutcher. She graduated from Joy High School and AIC College in Davenport, Iowa. She married H. “Cork” Gobble on August 13, 1961 in Marsten. She worked at International Harvester/Navistar for 30 years spending time at Farmall Works, Rock Island and later the Melrose Park plant. In 1995, she retired to Spring Hill, Fla. with her husband.
Dollie enjoyed travel, visiting all 50 states. She was also an avid camper. Most of all, she loved spending time with family, especially being “Memaw.”
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, H. “Cork”; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Danielle of Lincolnshire; three grandchildren, Adeline, Claire and Owen; four sisters, Wilma Townley, Eva Bull, Shirley Kuchenmeister, and Doris Retherford; and brother, Kenny Crutcher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Kathryn Frew; and brother, Denzil Crutcher.
