5th Annual Viola Threshers Reunion
The 5th Annual Viola Threshers Reunion - Steam Power, Gas Engine & Tractor Show is Sept. 10 - 11. It's a weekend full of fun for the whole family with breakfast served both days, food vendors, threshing & blacksmithing demonstrations, live Bluegrass (10 am-3 pm Sat.) & Gospel Music (Sat. 3 pm/Sun. 9 am), antique cars & tractors and more. Plus, plenty of fun for the kids - corn scramble, shucking contest, pedal tractor pull and a kid's fishing derby at 10 am on Saturday. Camping & visitor parking: 2 blocks west of Hwy 67 on 21st Ave. Exhibitor, Walk-in & Handicapped gate: 2 blocks west of Hwy 67 on 19th Ave. Admission is FREE! On Sunday, Sept. 11th, Knuckle Busters Car Club is sponsoring a parade in Aledo in honor of the 10th anniversary of 9/11. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. and travel south on College Avenue from 5th Street to Central Park. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
Western Line Dancing Clases
Interested in learning Western Line Dancing? Classes begin Sun., Sept. 11, at the College Avenue Y above Aledo City Hall. Beginner class is 5-6 pm and a class with a mix of beginners & intermediates will be 6:15-7:30. Pre-registration is not required. Call 582-5101 with any questions.
