Robert G. Litton, 69, of Woodhull, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island. Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17 at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull. Interment is in the Woodhull cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 16, at the funeral home, where memorials will be established. Online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.

He was born September 6, 1942 in Galesburg, a son of Kenneth and Aileen (Samuelson) Litton. He graduated from Alwood High School in 1960 and married Carol Seaton September 20, 1993 in Cambridge.

Robert was employed as a mechanic in the experimental department of John Deere in Silvis for over 30 years. He enjoyed farming, restoring/refurnishing John Deere tractors, fishing, and reading about family genealogy.

Survivors include: his wife, one daughter: Jean (Kent) Achterhof of Redmond, Ore.; two sons: Rodney (Carolee) Litton, Astoria, Ore. and Scott Litton of Los Angeles, Calif.; three step children: Sherri (Bill) Joshick of Lewistown; Terri (Terry) Buckellow of Davenport, Iowa; and Michelle (Nathan) Roach of Galesburg, two sisters: Carolyn (Ed) Kersknik of Rochelle and Katherine (Wayne) Martin of Moline; 15 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
