Clarence I. C. Pearson, 94, of Rock Island, formerly of Reynolds, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island. Per Clarence’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation. Inurnment services will be Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11 am in the Reynolds Cemetery, Reynolds, where military honors will be conducted by the Reynolds American Legion, Post No. 1166. Immediately following the inurnment services at the cemetery everyone is invited to a luncheon at the Reynolds United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Reynolds is assisting the family.

Clarence was born on April 2, 1917 in Perryton Township in rural Mercer County, a son of Charles Pearson and Esther Salstrom Pearson. He married Marian Danielson on May 17, 1952 in Reynolds; she preceded him in death on December 1, 1987. Mr. Pearson was a TV repairman in the Reynolds, Sherrard and Rock Island areas, he retired in 1980. Clarence was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader in Reynolds for many years. Mr. Pearson was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater.

Survivors include a daughter, Gail (Craig) Lithgow, Rantoul; sons, Martin (Pat) Pearson and John (Barb) Pearson, Downs; grandchildren, James (Summer) Vrell, Jana Lithgow, Carrie Lithgow, Scott (Bethany) Lithgow and David (Angie) Pearson; and five great-grandchildren.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marian; sisters, Pearl and Lucille; and brothers, John and Cecil. Online condolences may be left for the family at
