Maude S. Patterson, 98, of Alexis died 4:04 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011 at the Heartland Care Center, Galesburg. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Clark officiating.  Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery.  Friends may call after 12:00 noon on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present from 2 - 4 p.m.  Memorials may be given to her church or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Online condolence may be left at  www.hooverhall.com.

She was born August 16, 1913 in Woodhull the daughter of Ira L. and Tillie (Johnson) Maher.  She was reared and educated in Viola and graduated from Viola High School in 1932.

Maude married Sam Patterson on December 7, 1935 in Alexis, and he preceded her in death on August 25, 1996.

The couple resided most of their married life in Alexis where they raised their three children. They enjoyed traveling and spending time in Anaheim, California with a daughter and grandchildren.  Maude worked at Formfit-Smolers in Monmouth for 26 years.

She was a lifelong member of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Marlene Carlson of Anaheim, Calif. and Ruth E. (Dick) Hart of North Henderson; 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Sam Patterson, Jr. and great grandson, Jeremy Patterson, two sisters and two brothers.
