Preemption Township’s 5th Annual Youth Fishing Derby a Success

Preemption Township sponsored a youth fishing derby on Saturday, Aug. 25 at the Matherville Lake. The fishing derby was free to children ages 16 and under. All participants of the fishing derby received a prize. Lunch was provided afterwards free of charge.

 “The Preemption Township board would like to thank all of the participants in the fishing derby,” Larry Adams, Township Supervisor, said. “We would also like to thank all the participating sponsors for their support. This event would not have taken place without the help of all the volunteers involved.”

 The Preemption Township board would like to thank the following sponsors for making the Youth Fishing Derby a success. Morrison’s Market, Hampton Farms, Farmer’s State Bank, Village of Matherville, Little Store of Matherville, Stan Campbell Construction, Viola Union Federal, Mercer County F.O.P. Lodge 132, Matherville Fire Department, Verplates Escalating, Seither and Cherry, Matherville Eagles Club, Jackson Disposal, Dennison Funeral Homes, and Lou Sutton Country Financial.
