Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th District, hosted a fundraiser Saturday night (June 22) in New Windsor, in which Joe Wurzelbacher, better known as "Joe the Plumber", came to endorse his candidacy for Congress. Over 200 people showed up to meet Joe and to support the Bobby Schilling for Congress campaign. Joe said that he supports Schilling and that voters need to get educated about their choices in November.

"Bobby wants to do his best to fix this country," said Joe Wurzelbacher. "I vetted him quite heavily and I know that he is a mover and a shaker. He can get things done in Washington."

Schilling was happy to get his endorsement, as well.

"Joe represents the average American and the typical voter of the 17th District," said Schilling. "Our values match up well. I'm glad to get his support. We are going to work our fingers to the bone to get this job done. This is just too important to let our nation continue down the same path of higher debt, higher taxes and less jobs."

Schilling, a native of Rock Island, graduated from Alleman High School and attended Black Hawk College. Schilling, a local business owner and father of ten children, is the Republican candidate for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois. Bobby is running on a platform of bringing jobs and real representation back to the 17th District. Earlier this year, Schilling conducted a 34-city "Bob's for Jobs" tour, where he met with voters and employers all across the 17th District.
