Schilling Announces "Solutions for the 17th" Town Halls

Robert Blackford/Editor

Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th District, announced his plan to hold multiple town halls throughout the district before November 2nd. The "Solutions for the 17th" Town Halls will be held in the Quad Cities, Macomb, Galesburg, Aledo, Quincy, Monmouth, Canton, Carlinville, Springfield, and Decatur. These town halls will be open to the public.

"I want to share my vision with the people of the 17th District," Schilling said. "At the same time, I want to hear their concerns. The current representative of this district refuses to hold town halls because he doesn't want to explain his record to the people he represents. I have promised that as a Congressman I will provide constituent service that is second to none. I believe that includes holding regular town halls across the district. A true statesman listens to the people he represents, and I intend to do just that."

The Schilling campaign is currently working to finalize the scheduling on the town halls. However, the following town halls are officially set:

August 26 - Longview Park, Rock Island, 6pm

September 2 - Illinois City Community Center, Illinois City, 7pm

September 7 - Lake Storey, Galesburg, 4:30pm

October 18 - Rock Falls Community Building, Rock Falls, 7pm

Schilling, a native of Rock Island, graduated from Alleman High School and attended Black Hawk College. Schilling, a local business owner and father of ten children, is the Republican candidate for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois. Bobby is running on a platform of bringing jobs and real representation back to the 17th District.

Earlier this year, Schilling conducted a 34-city "Bob's for Jobs" tour, where he met with voters and employers all across the 17th District.
