Mitt Romney Endorses Bobby Schilling for Congress
Former Presidential nominee Mitt Romney has endorsed Bobby Schilling for Congress in the Illinois 17th District, along with several other Republican candidates in the state of Illinois.
Romney released the following statement in a press release:
"At a time when too many of our elected officials put special interests ahead of the public interest, it is more important than ever that we elect candidates who are dedicated to enacting the pro-growth policies Illinois -- and our country -- needs. Illinois is fortunate to have so many strong candidates dedicated to turning our economy around and I am proud [to] stand with them today,"
Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th District, was thrilled to have Mitt Romney's endorsement.
"I appreciate Mitt Romney's endorsement," Schilling said. "He's a hard-working man who's been a great voice for the conservative movement. I also think it's a testament to how far our campaign has come. In just a few months, we've moved from a 'Solid Democrat' district to a 'Toss Up' district according to several renowned election handicappers. Our message is certainly connecting with the people of this district, and I believe we're going to achieve victory on November 2nd."
Romney's "Free and Strong America PAC" also announced a $2,500 contribution to the Schilling campaign. The Free and Strong America PAC supports officeholders and candidates who are dedicated to advancing social, fiscal and foreign policies that will strengthen America at this critical time in the nation's history.
