United falls to Stark County
The United Red Storm fell to Stark County 57-54 on Jan. 11.
The Rebels jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the first quarter and held off the Red Storm's late challenge.
The Rebels went into the second quarter with a 10 point lead and scored 23 points in session. After scoring only two pints in the opening period United scored 18 in the second period and trailed 35-20 at the half.
United stepped it up in the second half outscoring Stark County 20-10 in the third quarter. The Red Storm trailed only 45-40 heading into the final period.
United forced Stark County to win the game at the line in the final period and the Rebels hit just enough free throws to pull it off going six for 13 from the charity stripe.
Alex Gavin led the Red Storm with 22 points.
Ely Ethan had 22 to lead Stark County.
