Today Bill Albracht, Republican candidate for State Senate in the Illinois 36th District, announced the hiring of Jon Schweppe as his campaign manager for the 2012 campaign.

Jon Schweppe, a 23 year old Augustana College graduate, served as part of Bobby Schilling's press team on his congressional campaign, and also worked in Congressman Schilling's Moline office.

Albracht said he's proud to have Schweppe on board.

"I have full confidence that Jon has what it takes to lead this campaign to victory," Albracht said. "He adds unique perspective, valuable experience, and a winning attitude that will help us get our message out and run an effective campaign. We're serious about winning next year, and bringing on a full-time campaign manager this early demonstrates that."

Schweppe said he's excited for the opportunity.

"Bill is an American hero, and he's dedicated his entire life to service," Schweppe said. "He's a principled conservative, and his no-nonsense approach is exactly what we need in state politics right now. We will be working tirelessly over the next seventeen months to elect Bill Albracht, a true statesman, to the Illinois State Senate."
