Mercer County 4 x 100 team qualifies for finals
The Mercer County High School 4 x 100 meter track team (Payton Holmes, Andrew Christie, Tanner Benson and Cameron Muske) has qualified for the finals Thursday, May 26. The Golden Eagles will compete Saturday, May 28 for the state title. The Golden Eagles finished with a time of 44.24 which was second in its heat.
The Sherrard 4 x 400 meter relay team (Kody Lieving, Will Sindelar, Josh Fisher and Jake Kissner) also qualified for the finals with a run of 3:32.37 which was good enough for second in the team's heat.
Mercer County's 4 x 200 meter relay team (Payton Holmes, Andrew Christie, Tanner Benson and Cameron Muske) placed fourth in its heat with a time of 1:34.33 but did not qualify for the finals.
Mercer County senior Andrew Christie placed fourth in his flight in the long jump with a leap of 20-03.25 but just missed qualifying for the finals.
Mercer County freshman Payton Holmes placed sixth in his heat in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.98 but did not qualify for the finals.
Rockridge's T.J. Henry reached a height of 6-00 in the high jump but didn't qualify for the finals.
