Rockets bump off Tigers

The Rockridge Rockets bumped off the Sherrard Tigers in two games 23-25 and 17-15 on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

The Rockets improved to 9-3 in the Olympic Conference with the victory and they are 18-7 overall.

The Tigers fell to 16-17-1 overall. They are 4-7 in the Olympic Conference.

Rocket Dana Wilges had four aces and Kendall Brown chipped in two more. Chelsey Widdop had 10 kills and Brown added six more. Widdop led the squad in blocks with five and Brown had three. Hillary Johnson had 14 assists while Haley Kitchell added four more. Lexi Frakes led in digs with five.

Sherrard's Sam Kammerman led the squad in kills with six while Carolyn Heiar added four more. Heiar and Maddi Kissner had two blocks apiece. Kelly Hornick had 11 assists while Kissner added six. Eliza Harris led in digs with 10 while Sarah Boraas added eight more.

The Sherrard junior varsity beat Rockridge 14-25, 25-8 and 25-17. The Sherrard's junior varsity record is 9-2.
