United knocks off Aledo on Senior Night

Oct 20, 2008, was senior night at Aledo High School. The seniors honored were Courtney Bennett, Krissy Diehl, Julia Kosiarski, Stephanie Peterson and Veronica Silva. Though not from lack of enthusiasm Aledo lost to United in two games 12-25 and 16-25.

Courtney Bennett led the team with three kills and four blocks. Emma Downey had two kills. Stephanie Peterson had five assists. Bennett and Brittany DeFrieze had two digs apiece. Stephanie Peterson had a pair of aces.

United's Stephanie Damewood had nine kills to lead her squad. Gina Long chipped in seven more and Krysten Karns had six and Bre Christian had four more. United's Mollie Murdock had 23 assists while Katie Kaywood and Sommer Foster had seven apiece. Brooke Armstrong and Carissa Youngquist had eight points apiece while Sommer Foster added seven and Mollie Murdock had five.

The United junior varsity beat Aledo 25-17, 25-27 and 25-20.

The United freshmen beat Aledo, 25-17 and 32-30.
