Tigers shut out Rockets, 33-0

The Sherrard Tigers shut out the Rockridge Rockets, 33-0 on Friday, Sept. 11. The Tigers improved their record to 3-0 with the victory while Rockridge fell to 1-2 overall.

Justin Miller had the big night for the Tigers scoring three times on runs of 19, 12 and three yards. Miller racked up 162 yards on 28 carries for the Tigers. Zach Miller added 93 yards on eight carries for Sherrard.

Zach Miller got the Tigers on the board early in the game breaking free on a 46 yard run with 10:26 remaining in the first quarter.

The Tigers scored three more times in the second quarter on runs from Justin Miller and Sherrard took a 26-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Sherrard tacked on one final score in the third quarter as Logan Frye hit John Sedlock with a 23 yard pass for a touchdown.

Frye completed five of his eight pass attempts for 96 yards and one touchdown. Sedlock was his favorite target catching three passes for 82 yards.

The Rockridge offense was led by Hunter Frakes who completed eight passes for 53 yards.

Stufflebeam led the Rocket defense with eight solo tackles and two assists. Martin added seven solo tackles and three assists.

Stratton led the Sherrard defense with five solo tackles and five assists. The Sherrard defense limited Rockridge to just five first downs on the evening. The Rockets gained only 36 yards on the ground and netted 53 yards through the air.

The Sherrard offense racked up 351 yards on the ground and 96 in the air.
