The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has released its first weekly indoor track national rankings and Monmouth College’s men find themselves in the top 20.

The Fighting Scots debuted at No. 19 in this week’s rankings. They are just seven points out of a top 15 spot.

Regionally, Monmouth’s women picked up 150.35 points and are ranked fifth by the USTFCCCA. The men are ranked seventh in the region, nine points out of fifth. They are the only Midwest Conference men’s team to be ranked nationally or regionally.

The rankings, released each Wednesday by the USTFCCCA, use a formula to determine how the teams would fare in a national title race. The formula is similar to that used to rank Division I teams.
