The Monmouth College men’s and women’s track teams have been ranked among the nation’s elite, according the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings.

A week after the Fighting Scots’ men dropped out of the nation’s top 25, the team reappeared at No. 13 in this week’s rankings. Monmouth vaulted 28 places after a strong showing at last week’s Wartburg Invitational. The Scots’ women slipped five spots, but stayed in the top 25 on the strength of improved performances and school records last weekend. The women are 21st in this week’s rankings, less than a point out of a top 20 spot.

Both squads made improvements in their regional standings. Monmouth’s men regained a top 10 spot in the Midwest Region, picking up 89.79 rankings points to pull in at No. 10. The women climbed one notch to No. 6 in the region.
