The Monmouth College men’s track team is making an early season move in the season’s first rankings as compiled by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Fighting Scots men debuted at No. 6 after winning last weekend’s 24-team Washington University Invitational in St. Louis. Monmouth’s men posted an automatic qualifying mark at the meet as well as numerous provisional performances. The top six teams are all from the Midwest Region, and the Scots are just three-hundredths of a point out of the top five.

Monmouth’s women also made the national rankings. Like the men, the Scots women produced an automatic qualifier and several provisional qualifiers last weekend while finishing second at the meet. The women, who entered the first national rankings by the USTFCCCA at No. 24, are ranked sixth in the Midwest Region.

Monmouth’s next action will be at the Lee Calhoun Invitational at Western Illinois University this Saturday.
