Augustana announces summer basketball camp dates

Head basketball coach, Grey Giovanine, has announced the dates for the Augustana summer basketball camp to be held at the Carver Center (Home of the Vikings) on the Augustana campus in Rock Island.

The “Fun and Fundamentals” camps will feature detailed instruction from “Coach G” and his staff along with current Augustana players, and Illinois High School Hall of Fame Coach, Chips Giovanine.  All of the camps will include games, competition, and contests.  Each camper will receive an Augustana Basketball T-Shirt and a regulation size indoor/outdoor basketball.

The Viking program has enjoyed tremendous success under Giovanine – who will be in his 13th season at Augustana in 2012-13 – going 218-77 (.739) over the last decade, including 135-21 (.865) at home in the Roy J. Carver Center.  Since the 2006 season, the Vikings have won 4 CCIW Conference titles, 3 CCIW Tournament Championships, and played in 4 NCAA tournaments.
