On Monday, March 11 the Rockridge Community Unit #300 School Board unanimously approved the hiring of Sam Graves as the new head football coach at Rockridge High School and Mrs. Connie Widdop as the new head volleyball coach at Rockridge High School.

Graves has served as the defensive coordinator with the varsity football Rockets for the past three seasons, serving under former head coach Jason Kirby. Prior to coaching at Rockridge, Coach Graves served as an assistant for two seasons at Genoa-Kingston High School and for one season at Chatham High School. This will be coach Graves first head varsity football coaching position; however, Coach Graves has been instrumental in the turn-around of the Rockridge football program and its three consecutive playoff berths since joining the coaching staff in 2010.

Graves replaces Jason Kirby, who resigned the position once being named the head football coach at Canton High School.

Widdop returns to the helm of the Rockridge volleyball program after taking a long leave of absence from the volleyball head coaching reins. She previously served as the Rockridge Head Coach from 1981-84, and prior to that, she was the head volleyball coach at Sherrard High School (1978-81).

Widdop replaces Mary Strachan who resigned the position in December after serving as Rockridge's head girls' volleyball coach since 2009.
