Golden Eagles second, Rockridge third in latest AP Poll

The Mercer County Golden Eagles football team was ranked second in the state Tuesday by the Associated Press with Rockridge right behind Mercer County at number three.

Maroa-Forsyth (8-0) remained the top ranked team in the state with the 54-13 victory over Moweaqua Central A & M.

The Golden Eagles will close out their season Friday against Annawan-Wethersfield. Rockridge faces Kewanee in their season finale.

Fellow Lincoln Trail Conference team Stark County is ranked sixth in 1A after beating West Central 40-8.
