Golden Eagles squash ROWVA comeback

The Mercer County Golden Eagles defeated ROWVA 43-40 on Monday, Dec. 9.

ROWVA led 13-12 after the first quarter but the Golden Eagles outscored the Tigers 14-9 in the second period and held a 26-22 lead at the half.

Mercer County added a point to the team's lead in the third quarter outscoring ROWVA 6-5 and headed into the final period with a 32-27 lead. ROWVA outscored Mercer County 13-11 in the final period but it wasn't enough.

Scoring for Mercer County were: Kristen Heath, 15; Bridget Anderson, nine; Michaela Baker, eight; Bailey Swanson, five; Emily Lower, four and Kenzie Baker, two.

Heath also led Mercer County in rebounding with 15. Anderson and Baker had five assists apiece to led the Golden Eagles. Baker had a team high three steals

Mikaylin Bent led ROWVA in scoring with16 points.
